Entering radio silence
This winter I’m in the final crunch of revisions and updates for the forthcoming 5th edition of The Practical Nomad: How to Travel Around the World, scheduled for publication later this year, including updates to incorporate the lessons of my own most recent 13-month trip around the world and other travels. It’s a huge task, and I want to do it right and make the next edition as timely, accurate, and useful to readers as the previous ones have been.
Preliminary negotiations and motions are beginning in my own lawsuit against US Customs and Border Protection for its records about my travels.
In the meantime, I’ll be going to Albuquerque again to observe and report for the Identity Project on the trial of Phil Mocek, the first TSA resister to be arrested and brought to trial.
The next season of The Amazing Race premieres 20 February 2010. My weekly columns about the lessons of the reality-TV show for real-world travellers will resume then as well.
Other than that, don’t expect to see much new here for the next couple of months.

The new 5th (paper) edition will be in stores in late 2011. The current 4th edition is available both in print and in a "Kindle Edition".
